A lot has happened this last week and I don’t know where to start.
I had the desire to go public about my efforts to get healthier. I felt that public exposure would help me stay on track and maybe help someone else with like challenges. That is why I started this blog. Then the idea came about to create a group effort. To make a program available that would help other people with similar weight/health issues. A “we are all in this together” with common goals support group. Paul Carrozza with RunTex has always been ready to add training expertise and jumped right in. That has evolved into the ATX 100 program. We are getting together a group of 100 people who want to lose 100 pounds or more. Right! I certainly fit into that category…Or More! This thing is really beginning to happen. We are going to take the month of August to get people enrolled. There will be all sorts of resources to help along the way. We have a group page on Facebook-ATX100. There is an enrollment form online with a link on my ATX100 page. There will be a $100.00 fee to join but you will more than get your monies worth. To begin with you will be fitted with a pair of shoes and get a shirt to walk/work out in as well as weekly support and training. And that brings me to the next part of the Good Things Are Happening. Every now and then you get a chance to meet someone who is a dynamic energetic force. Last week Paul and I spent two hours with Mario Mendias, owner and founder of My Fit Foods. I cannot do justice, in describing My Fit Foods. You have to check them out online… and then in person. I have added a link on in this blog and also on my links page. I don’t know how many times I have said “I wish there was some place where I could just stop in and pick up a healthy meal to go”. Well there is…in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio… it is My Fit Foods. The important thing is that the food is healthy, delicious and fresh. All the nutritional information is available…you can download a PDF file with everything you need to know, including the WW points. I need every available tool to be successful at getting healthier and that means adding healthy eating choices. Today Mario and My Fit Foods have decided to co-sponsor the ATX100 with RunTex. So your registration fee will also get you a 20% discount for one year at My Fit Foods in addition to all the training support. If this sounds like something you need…sign up. If it sounds like something someone you know needs…pass it along.
